Jane Austen Blue Cushion

Jane Austen Blue Cushion

One of the most well-known writers in the world, Jane Austen, lived most of her life in Hampshire, where the homes, landscapes, and locals served as inspiration for many of her novels.

This beautiful Austen Blue pattern depicts a flower design drawn on a blue backdrop including oak leaves and flowers from a Pelisse coat that is believed to have belonged to Jane Austen. During Austen's era, a Pelisse coat was a garment worn over a dress or gown that was in style.

At one point, the oak leaf motif utilised here was a widely recognised national symbol in Britain.

It fits 45cm x 45cm cushions and is a double sided tapestry cushion with a piped edge. The artwork is represented on both sides and has a concealed zip on one end to allow pad to be removed for washing or replacement.
