Bourne - Panelled Cushion

Bourne - Panelled Cushion

John Henry Dearle (1859-1932) was a British textile and stained-glass designer who studied under William Morris. Dearle designed many of the later wallpapers and textiles released by William Morris’s company.

‘Bourne’ is one of the designs created by Dearle in 1905. The cream background features a symmetrical pattern of curling green leaves juxtaposed with wild and vibrant vermillion flowers and delicate blue florals.

It fits 18x18 inches cushions and is a double sided a tapestry cushion with a piped edge. The artwork is represented on both sides and has a concealed zip on one end to allow pad to be removed for washing or replacement.
